Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2022

The winners of the sixth annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards have been revealed! While Attack On Titan took home the award for Anime of the Year, it was Demon Slayer that came away with the most wins by a single series.

Millions of anime fans cast their ballots on the Crunchyroll website during the latter half of January. Given that 2021 was an especially good year for anime, with multiple modern classics airing, this year’s awards looked to be extremely competitive.

In total, 39 shows were nominated in 20 different categories. The Best Film, Best Action Series, and Best Romance Series categories were also featured in this year's awards. 

As stated above, Attack On Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) stole the show, winning Anime of the Year, as well as scoring nine other nominations and taking home a total of four awards. Not to be outdone, the other mega hit of the year, Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba), won seven overall awards, including four voice acting awards. Additionally, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train snagged the win for Best Film.

With 11 nominations apiece, Odd Taxi and Wonder Egg Priority tie for the lead in total nominations. In a surprising turn of events, Wonder Egg Priority failed to win a single award, while Odd Taxi took two victories. Jujutsu Kaisen, last year's top winner, did not go home empty-handed, winning Best Action, Best Fight, and a slew of other honors.
