Anime News Network Has Been Acquired by KADOKAWA

ANN (Headquarters: Quebec Province, Canada, President: Christopher Macdonald, hereinafter "ANN") and KADOKAWA CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Member of the Board: Takeshi Natsuno; hereinafter "KADOKAWA") announced today that they have reached an agreement for KADOKAWA to acquire a majority stake in ANN's media business.


ANN has been in the media business since 1998. It focuses on getting the latest news about Japanese anime, manga, light novels, and other forms of entertainment to its English-speaking market users in North America and other parts of the world. ANN's website also has a database of content and community forums where users can talk to each other. It has become one of the largest platforms in North America for its field.
