CloverWorks Announces Anime Adaptation of Satoru Nii's Manga "Wind Breaker"

Exciting news for fans of Satoru Nii's manga series "Wind Breaker" as CloverWorks, the renowned animation studio behind successful titles like Spy x Family, The Promised Neverland, and Darling in the Franxx, announces the development of an anime adaptation.
"Wind Breaker," which started serialization on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket manga website in January 2021, has gained a dedicated following since its debut. The manga tells the story of Haruka Sakura, a student who has recently joined Furin High School, an institution known for its students' brawling skills. Haruka's desire for strength and distaste for weakness push him to seek the top position in a school of delinquents, who have taken on the responsibility of protecting their community from harm.
As of April 2023, "Wind Breaker" has 11 compiled volumes, with the latest set to release on April 7, 2023. The manga has received significant attention, ranking 20th at the 2021 Next Manga Award in the web manga category and ninth in a poll conducted during AnimeJapan 2022 asking which manga fans would like to see animated. The series boasts impressive sales, with over 1.22 million copies sold between digital and print versions as of March 2022.
Kodansha USA licensed the series for digital English publication in March 2022, with print copies scheduled to be released in Fall 2023.
