'Yu☆Gi☆Oh!' Mangaka Kazuki Takahashi Dies at 60

Kazuki Takahashi, best known for his Yu☆Gi☆Oh! manga series, died on Thursday. He was sixty years old.

According to NHK, at around 10:30 a.m. on July 6, a person reported to the Japan Coast Guard that a body was floating 300 meters off the coast of Nago city, Okinawa prefecture. Takahashi was discovered with snorkeling equipment by the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard and police are currently investigating the incident.

Kazuo Takahashi was born in Tokyo in 1961 and began his manga career in 1982. Takahashi published the Yu☆Gi☆Oh! manga in Weekly Shounen Jump from September 1996 to March 2004. The manga inspired the creation of the same-name Trading Card Game, which was first published by Bandai and then Konami.
