Fans Suspect That Tatsuki Fujimoto Has Released A New Manga While Posing As A Rookie
Fans of Tatsuki Fujimoto suspect the Chainsaw Man author of posing as a rookie author by the name of Naoki Akutsu and publishing a new comic, Boy Meets Girl Meets Boy.
In the 57th Jump New World Manga Award, the manga received the 2nd semi-winning trophy for December 2021. This award aims to act as a launching pad for new manga authors.
When looking at the intricacies of the sci-fi romance manga, such as the style of artwork and frame division, fervent Fujimoto fans find it comparable to his earlier works.
The suspicion is also a result of Fujimoto’s strange character, which is well-known in the industry and among fans. Ghibli recently became aware of a Twitter account called Nagayama Koharu, which claimed to be the author's younger sister. The editorial department afterwards discovered that it was, in reality, the author himself.
Furthermore, he purported to be a Filipino studying Japanese in Pixiv. Another time, he changed his name and pretended to be a fresh manga artist trying out his skills.

Naoki Akutsu and Boy Meets Girl Meets Boy
However, these rumors are currently unfounded. Many believe Fujimoto would not go to such lengths to amuse the editors. There is also the possibility that any similarity between the one-shot manga and Fujimoto’s work is the result of Akutsu being an assistant or a fan of the author.
They also point out that the one-shot's storyline is a rather peaceful story for Fujimoto, who enjoys exceeding expectations.
"I want you to change it to make it a little more your own," the editing staff of Shonen Jump issue #12, which announced the award, said. Despite the fact that it isn't stated explicitly, the criticism could be towards Akutsu, who drew the manga in a similar style to Fujimoto.
Boy Meets Girl Meets Boy is a sci-fi romance focusing on conversational drama in which a man who repeats time leaps to prevent the death of his lover is exposed to surprising revelations from her.
