Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was first created by Gege Akutami as a manga series. From April to July 2017, it was serialized in Shueisha's Jump GIGA magazine under the title 'Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School' Which was later changed to Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

After the Jujutsu Kaisen anime television series finale, an anime film adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was announced and is set to premiere in December 24th 2021.

MAPPA is returning to produce the film.
