Japanese Fans Choose Top Ten Manga Series They Want To See Animated

Anime Japan 2022 was recently held, and much like the previous years, the results of the massive anime poll "Manga I wish to see animated in the future" were released. These mangas are chosen by the general population through a voting process. A total of 102 works were nominated, and the list for the top 10 is as follows.


10. Kaiju no. 8

Synopsis

In a world that is constantly attacked by kaiju, Kafka Hibino is a worker who cleans up the debris left behind after the battle against them. This is a bitter reality for a man who had dreams of joining the Defense Force in order to kill kaiju, but failed the examination numerous times. After a small talking monster flies into his body via his mouth, Kafka gains the ability to turn into a monster himself, which gets dubbed "Kaiju No. 8" by the Defense Force. Kafka remains fully cognizant while in the form, but gains superhuman strength, and becomes the first monster to escape the Defense Force.

The manga is written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto, and has been available Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ app and website since July 2020, with chapters collected in six tankōbon volumes by March 2022.


9. Wind Breaker

Synopsis

Haruka Sakura wants nothing to do with weaklings—he's only interested in the strongest of the strong. He's just started at Furin High School, a school of degenerates known only for their brawling strength—strength they use to protect their town from anyone who wishes it ill. But Haruka's not interested in being a hero or being part of any sort of team—he just wants to fight his way to the top!

The manga is written and illustrated by Satoru NII, and has been ongoing since January 13, 2021.

Synopsis

The series focuses on high school student Rentarō Aijō, who in his lifetime fell in love and confessed to exactly 100 girls, only to be rejected by all of them. While praying in a shrine, Rentarō is approached by the God of Love, who reveals that he, due to an error, is destined to have 100 soulmates. However, he also tells Rentarō that if he does not return the feelings of any of his soulmates, they will suffer an accident and die. Not wanting this to happen, Rentarō is determined not to let any of his soulmates die as he meets and dates them all at the same time.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You is written by Rikito Nakamura, while the art is illustrated by Yukiko Nozawa, and currently has a total of 8 volumes as relased by Young Jump Comics.

Synopsis

Office worker Kiyoshi Adachi has gone 30 years of life without ever having his cherry popped. Due to this profound accomplishment, he becomes a wizard with the ability to read minds through physical contact. However, he thinks his newly attained skill is hopelessly lame and has caused him to dislike crowded places.

On the way to his work, Adachi runs into his attractive and well-liked coworker, Yuuichi Kurosawa. Curious, Adachi furtively touches Kurosawa, only to find out that his coworker holds romantic dreams about him!

The series is written and illustrated by Yuu Toyota, and is currently ongoing with 5 volumes.

Synopsis

This author for this manhwa is Chugong, and the story has been concluded on December 29, 2021.

Aka Akasaka wrote Oshi no Ko, which was illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. Since April 23, 2020, it has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump.

Synopsis

But instead of cowering in fear, Ruru is eager to befriend Magu, even dubbing the God of Destruction "Magu-chan!" Magu finds himself at the mercy of this young girl as he attempts to regain his full powers. However, as he progresses in his mission, his friendship with Ruru blossoms as he learns a bit more about the lowly world he plans to destroy.

Written by Kei Kamiki, the manga reached its conclusion on February 7, 2022.

Written and illustrated by Satou to shio/ Satoutoshio, the manga ended its original run on November 22, 2021 with 3 volumes.
