Synopsis

Aoyama is a serious 10-year-old boy who keeps a notebook in which he documents all of his daily activities. Despite being a considerable way from the sea, penguins unexpectedly appear in his hometown one day. Aoyama sets out to discover the mystery behind the penguins and uncovers many more mysteries through his research.

Based on the novel of the same name by Tomihiko Morimi, the 2018 Penguin Highway takes a very charming approach to mystery and surrealism as an anime movie.

One day a large number of Penguins seem to appear in the middle of the town, and Aoyama and his friends start researching these mysteries. trying to understand where the penguins came from and how they came to this town which was very far from the sea.

With beautiful visuals and a quirky but adorable take on surrealism and mystery, this anime pulls you in with its charm and keeps you intrigued till the very end.
